Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is the process of removing unwanted hair by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle. The efficacy of laser hair removal is now generally accepted in the dermatology community and laser hair removal is widely practiced in clinics, and even in homes using devices designed and priced for consumer self-treatment.
The primary principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis (SPTL), the matching of a specific wavelength of light and pulse duration to obtain optimal effect on a targeted tissue with minimal effect on surrounding tissue. Lasers can cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target matter, melanin, in the area that causes hair growth, the follicle, while not heating the rest of the skin. Light is absorbed by dark objects, so laser energy can be absorbed by dark material in the skin, but with much more speed and intensity. This dark target matter, or chromophore, can be naturally-occurring or artificially introduced.
Side Effects: Some normal side effects may occur after laser hair removal treatments, including itching, pink skin, redness, and swelling around the treatment area or swelling of the follicles (follicular edema). These side effects rarely last more than two or three days. The two most common serious side effects are acne and skin discoloration.
Laser skin resurfacing aka skin tightening and fine line removal
Laser skin resurfacing is done to improve the appearance of your skin if you want to get rid of wrinkles or fine lines. The procedure can also be done to treat discolored areas of skin on your face and can improve your skin's overall texture and clarity.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Tattoos consist of thousands of particles of tattoo pigment suspended in the skin. While normal human growth and healing processes will remove small foreign particles from the skin, tattoo pigment particles are permanent because they are too big to be removed. Laser treatment causes tattoo pigment particles to heat up and fragment into smaller pieces. These smaller pieces are then removed by normal body processes.
Laser Vein Removal
As we age, it’s very common for spider veins to form in a variety of body areas. Often occurring on the legs, cheeks, and nose, spider veins can not only be painful, they can be very noticeable on the skin and make us feel self-conscious about the way we look. We offers advanced laser rejuvenation procedures that can eliminate the appearance of spider veins and result in smoother, healthy-looking skin.
Laser Scar Removal
With laser scar removal, you can diminish signs of mild to moderate scarring caused by traumatic injury, surgery, acne, and other factors. This innovative technology is a non-surgical way of improving a condition that can have a significant impact on one’s self-esteem.
Laser Age Spot Removal
Age spots are very common skin conditions that can occur virtually anywhere on the body, but are often most noticeable on the face, arms, and hands. These areas of discoloration and depigmentation can be improved with laser skin resurfacing. Targeted laser energy can penetrate the skin in the treatment areas and work to give the skin a more even color, significantly diminishing the appearance of age spots.
